Anyone can get all dresses up and glamorous,
But it is people dress in their off days that's most intriguing to me"

Obedient Sons & Daugthers,

Swaim and Christina Hutson.

More eyes than ever before are trained on the husband-and-wife design team of Swaim and Christina Hutson, newly minted CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund nominees. Perhaps they were trying to shake off all that expectation with their Spring motto: "Turn on, tune in, and drop out." Or not. This was no Timothy Leary twirling-at-Woodstock-in-body- paint-and-patchouli scene. "Communes," Christina said backstage, then wrinkled her nose. "Well, luxury communes."

The wardrobe inspired by these dreamy utopias came in a serene and sun-bleached prairie palette, with loads of tactile linens, chunky laces, and hand-knits that did indeed speak of the finer things. We've come to expect the duo—who, after all, were exclusively menswear designers until a few seasons ago—to tailor a perfect jacket and give it an edgy spin, and they delivered again by cutting them in austere linen and pairing them with high-waisted trousers and shorts.

Organic Life with Jon Patrick,

" I envision a world in the near future
where the people won't ask - it is organic?,
but say - of course it is organic!"
John Patrick.

Keep Trendy

Last Trends.

By Laurelle Gilbert

As well as punky bad girls, and Dolce's troop of models dressed like the Queen, there was another woman storming the catwalk this season. A tough, warrior like woman whose winter uniform is made up of architectural shapes, sharp edges, and fierce silhouettes, inspired by architectural design and modern art.

Part nineties minimalism, part futurist-chic, this translated into a strong silhouette, geometric patterns on everything from suede boots to knit dresses, scaffold like heels and exaggerated shoulders.

This is a look for the fashion maverick, but is sure to create an impact whether you want to look formidable in the boardroom or on the dance floor.

Hair Trends

By Amy Lawrenson

Want a simple beauty look that will work with any trend? Then opt for a go-with-anything centre fold. Wear hair styled straight for a classic 1970s vibe (just don't go poker straight, look to Sonia Rykiel for inspiration and keep some body in the ends), or try blow-dried waves for a luxe easy-to-wear style. If you want to play down a cocktail dress slick hair into a centre parted updo, as seen on the runway at Christopher Kane and Pringle, or lend a dramatic edge to any look by pairing a sleek parting at the roots with a crimped, full-volume updo, seen at Alexander McQueen. Whichever look you go for, keep it simple and slightly dishevelled to ensure it looks super modern and up-to-date.
